Backpack Guide is an independent, unofficial resource that reviews Backpack Exchange and helps newcomers get set up. We are readers and traders ourselves — not the Backpack company. This page explains who we are, how we review, and exactly how we make money.
What we do
We publish plain-English reviews and guides about Backpack Exchange: its fees, security, how to sign up, and how it compares with other platforms. Our goal is to answer the questions people actually search for — accurately, and without hype.
How we review
Hands-on
We base our assessments on using the platform and on Backpack's official documentation, not guesswork.
Verifiable
Where figures change (fees, promotions), we tell you to confirm the live numbers on Backpack's own site.
Balanced
We publish cons as well as pros. If something isn't great, we say so.
How we make money
This site is free to read. When you open a Backpack account through one of our links, Backpack pays us a small referral commission — and, importantly, you receive a 5% discount on your trading fees at the same time. It costs you nothing extra, and it never changes our opinions or ratings. If we didn't think Backpack was worth using, we'd say so regardless of commissions.
Editorial independence
Backpack Exchange has no control over, and no input into, what we publish. Our reviews are our own. We update pages as the platform and its fee schedule evolve.
